Atlanta’s own THE CHARIOT has debuted a brand new track titled, "In," today exclusively via Altpress.com. Click HERE to listen! “This song was originally going to be the opening track to ‘One Wing.’ It was a last minute decision to move it further in down list, and I think it was for the better.” says frontman Josh Scogin. THE CHARIOT will release "One Wing," on August 28th, 2012.
Scogin continues, “The song still has the strength of an opener but this record is a journey and for that reason alone it belongs at track 7. One Wing was designed to be heard in chronological order but having said that, I think this song does a pretty good job standing all alone as well.”
The band goes into great depth explaining their cover art with artist Trey Moseley providing his own words. Click HERE or the image to view a behind the scenes video on the making of the artwork that became, "One Wing."
In a recent interview the band was asked what their mindset was when going into the studio on "One Wing," and front man Josh Scogin commented, "Let’s get weird."

A message from the band is below:
Back in August of 2011 we announced that we were beginning to write a new record. We had originally planned to record in January 2012, but as Jan grew closer we decided to push the recording back to July 2012. We had way more ideas than we expected and wanted to make sure we did everything we wanted. To put it simply.
After that, we moved recording to July. When March rolled around we started to get Summer offers for shows and tours, and of course we choose playing over anything. Including playing this years final Cornerstone Festival, and Lifest. So we decided to push back our recording again.
We set our sights for recording in Sept. but since recording that late in the year would bring an early 2013 at the earliest, we have decided to take a tour in Sept/Oct (To be announced) and record THIS FALL/WINTER. Yes. We are definitely recording this Winter. Stop asking us to play shows, because we have a hard time saying no.
Other than that, we are VERY excited for this record. It will not disappoint and we have some interesting collaborations coming with it. It WILL be heavy and it will be something new.
In the meantime. Listen to MERIDIONAL. Did you know it has two B-sides? (Distance to Planets & Kill More Presidents) ALSO, did you know that if you stack Occidental, Oriental and Septentrional that is actually one song? Just line up the clicks at the beginning in Garageband or something. Have fun.
We are also working on a DVD. The DVD will tell the story of Norma Jean and have lots of behind the scenes footage and interviews. Past and present members.
Check out our shows coming up in the USA and Europe/Russia and come hang at a show. You may hear a new song…
To Speak of Wolves - Find Your Worth, Come Home
Record Label: Solid State Records
Release Date: May 22nd, 2012
I first heard of Greensboro, NC natives To Speak of Wolves when I saw them open for Underoath and Emery back in 2009. Releasing “Myself<Letting Go” to rave reviews in 2010, the band lost original vocalist, Rick Jacobs and picked up Oh, Sleeper’s merch guy Gage Speas for vocal duty. After seeing the band three times (once with Rick Jacob and twice with Gage Speas, I can honestly say they’ve found their sound with the new vocalist. “Find Your Worth, Come Home" contains two guest vocals from Micah Kinard of Oh, Sleeper on “Stand Alone Complex”, and Levi the Poet on “Rearview Memories” which gives the album variation. To Speak of Wolves waste no time shifting into high gear with the ferocious opener, "Hivemind" which smashes through the wall and grabs you by the throat. It’s quite obvious the band are influenced by The Chariot and Norma Jean (back when they had Josh Scogin in the band) which is evident in guitarists Corey Doran and Aaron Kisling’s chaotic playing even more so in Gage’s raw vocals. Thankfully, their guitar playing stands out among hundreds of other bands who prefer chugging and breakdowns over innovative riffs. Phil Chamberlain’s drumming really shines through on this record, especially on the songs, "Je Suis Fini", "Broken Birds", and Hivemind. It’s safe to say that To Speak of Wolves have secured their place as one of Solid State’s next big bands.
