Today, SENSES FAIL debut their new video for “Between the Mountains and the Sea”. Director Markus Lundqvist filmed the clip in Stockholm, Sweden and it offers an unforgettable look at coming to terms with mortality - looking death in the eye while choosing to savor life.

“I am very happy with this video,” commented singer Buddy Nielsen. “I feel that it stirs emotion and speaks as it’s own piece of art separate from the song. In some ways it is unsettling but such is life. The goal of this video is to show that sadness and hopefulness at times coexist.”

Screaming. While it’s certainly nothing new for Senses Fail, it’s definitely prevalent on this album. I wanna applaud the band for trying something different and not making another “safe” album like The Fire. The album opens with the self-titled track, “Renacer" (Spanish for "revive" or "to be reborn), which takes you by the hand and throws you into the mosh-ready songs on the rest of the album. The lyrics on the record are more to the point this time and less vague; also understandable for your friends who can’t stand "screamo" music.

The first single from the record, “Mi Amor" is sung almost entirely in Spanish (80% of it anyway) was the result of spontaneous inspiration while recording in the studio. "The Path" finds vocalist Buddy Nielsen singing a message of hope; "Don’t be afraid to stumble and weep, enjoy the journey even when it’s steep. The mountains teach us to rise up and reach, enjoy the journey even when you’re weak." It’s fitting that the band would choose "to be reborn" as the title cause they sound like a completely different band on this release, which isn’t a bad thing. Songs like "Closure/Rebirth”, “Holy Mountain”, “The Path”, and “Mi Amor" are sure to become crowd favorites in the band’s set. This is by far the band’s best work and is sure to be a classic similar to the rest of the band’s catalog.

SENSES FAIL will release their fifth full-length studio album entitled RENACER (ray-nah-serr) on March 26, 2013 on Staple Records. Renacer was recorded in Los Angeles, California at both The Airport Studio and Red Bull Studio with producer Shaun Lopez (Far, Deftones) at the helm.

“We celebrated our 10 year anniversary in February 2012 and immediately got to work writing Renacer,” commented singer Buddy Nielsen. “The approach to this record was to embrace change and explore a different side of the band. The process was long, but was probably the smoothest out of any other record because we wrote without any boundaries. Renacer is by far our heaviest effort to date, which felt like a natural progression for us.”

“We chose to work with Shaun because of our respect and love of the music he has made in Far and the work he has done over the years as a producer. Shaun was a huge asset in crafting and harnessing the heaviness of the record without sacrificing the clarity and natural sonics that we wanted.”

“The name Renacer means “to be reborn” in Spanish. We chose the name because it reflected the change that we embraced in our personal lives as well as in our musical lives. The name ties together the themes of the record, which touch on change through positivity, balance, spiritual growth and love. We are very proud of the work we have done and are extremely excited to share it with the world.”

Senses Fail recently announced a UK tour scheduled for late spring and will be announcing their US tour plans shortly. Pre-order details for the album will also be announced in the coming weeks.

Senses Fail formed in Ridgewood, New Jersey over 10 years ago and has sold over 1.2 million records worldwide. The band’s most recent studio album, The Fire, was released in 2010. A greatest hits album, Follow Your Bliss: The Best of Senses Fail, was released last year.
